Appeals

If a student is not satisfied with a decision the school has made, he or she has the right to appeal the decision. There are three (3) categories that an appeal can fall under: Academic Appeal, Financial Aid Appeal, and a Non-Academic/Financial Appeal. A student must follow the appeal process.

All appeals must be via the Appeals Form:  , which will forward the appeal to the Student Affairs Committee.

This committee will review the student’s appeal and take into consideration the student’s mitigating or special circumstances. The committee may ask for additional documentation to verify the student’s circumstances and the appeal should be based on circumstances which impaired the student’s ability to succeed academically. Such circumstances may include:

  • Injury or illness
  • Death of a relative
  • Family Emergency
  • Other special circumstances

The student’s appeal will only be granted if the student has a reasonable chance of recovery. A written response will be given to the student within fourteen (14) calendar days from date of receipt of the appeal letter. The decision of the committee is final. If the student’s appeal is approved, he or she will be contacted by e-mail.

The student may be placed on a probation period at the start of the student’s next course. As part of the probation period, the student must agree with a written plan of action that is approved by the committee.

Please note that each appeal is different. Approval for one does not mean approval for the other. Each will be evaluated by the school’s leaders in applicable departments.

If a student is not satisfied with the school’s final decision after a proper appeal has been filed, he or she may contact:
