Official Transcripts

All transcripts that contain a signature, seal, certification, or any other image or mark required to validate the authenticity of the document will be maintained in its original hard copy in the student’s file or in an imaged media format. ABTU may maintain a record in an imaged media format only if the format is capable of reproducing an accurate, legible, and complete copy of the original document. When printed, the copy must be approximately the same size as the original document.

An official Transcript is printed on security paper and bares the school seal. Official Transcripts will also have a legend and supporting information on the reverse side. ABTU official Transcript paper is yellow/gold in color with a black border.

ABTU adheres to all DEAC and DOE requirements regarding the verification of high school education and equivalencies.  All students are required to self-verify the completion of a high school diploma or equivalency on the enrollment agreement prior to admittance and all are asked to request official transcripts be sent to ABTU.

The registrar is then required to verify high school education or equivalency for at least 30% of successfully admitted students.  This procedure is as follows:

  1. Within 60 days of the finalization of newly enrolled students the registrar must identify the portion of official transcripts or verification received.
  2. If this portion is less than 30%, the registrar must randomly select additional students to verify until the requirement is satisfied.

Foreign Credentials Evaluation

All foreign credentials received by ABTU including secondary and post-secondary education, must be evaluated to determine U.S. equivalency by an authorized third party.  ABTU sends all foreign transcripts to Compliance Strategies, Inc for evaluation.
If ABTU is unable to verify documents according to the requirements above, the student will be subject to cancellation for non-compliance.  The student may appeal this decision with proper documentation as required, see Appeals policy http://abtu.edu/policies/appeals-app-pl-0613/.
